Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) and University of Malawi (UNIMA) are currently conducting a School Leadership program (SLP) under Malawi Education Reform Program (MERP) component 4, targeting leaders in the primary school sector to enhance quality of education in Malawi. The activity which is being carried out through the Ministry of Education is funded by World Bank.
During the opening ceremony of a 12 days Training of Trainers (TOT) and piloting, the guest of honor, Dr Sunduzwayo Madise who is the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNIMA urged participants to be pro-active in order for them to impart the prerequisite knowledge to the target audience. Madise challenged the teachers to be proud of their work and ensure that a good foundation is being laid out to learners before they get enrolled into universities.
In his remarks, Dr Fritz Kadyoma, Executive Director for MIE assured commitment from the Institute throughout the activities until the intended purpose is met. He also expressed gratitude to the World Bank for the financial support.
