Management from the Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) conducted inspections of four warehouses in Machinga and Zomba from 9 to 10 March to ensure proper management and safeguarding of government resources.
The visits allowed the team to assess storage conditions, review inventory, and confirm the availability of essential materials particularly paper required for producing teaching and learning resources. A plenary discussion followed, highlighting the need for strong security, efficient warehouse systems, and responsible use of public assets. Members suggested the need for the Institute to have its own warehouse within the campus premises among the long term measures of safeguarding the resources.

Management expressed satisfaction with the condition of the facilities and reaffirmed MIE’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and effective stewardship of government property. The Acting Executive Director, Mr. Jennings Kayira affirmed that these periodic monitoring of governments resources will remain the culture for the Institutes management.
