Our Mandate

• Design, develop, and evaluate the national curriculum for schools and colleges
• Evaluate textbooks, teachers’ guides and other instructional materials produced by publishers
• Review school and college curricula
• Establish and implement programmes for continuing professional development of teachers and other educational personnel
• Conduct education research
• Publish textbooks, teachers’ guides and other instructional materials
• Disseminate relevant education information through the production and publication of journals and otherwise
• Train and assist in the training of teachers
• Provide training and professional services for teachers and offer advisory services to other sectors
• Admit students and participants into courses offered by the Institute.
