In the ongoing conceptualisation workshop at Hippo View Lodge in Liwonde, Secretary for Education, Basic and Secondary, Dr. Rachel Chimbwete Phiri commended the diverse participants for their collaborative efforts. Dr. Chimbwete expressed satisfaction with the progress made and emphasised the importance of envisioning a curriculum that aligns with the aspirations of Malawians. This vision includes integrating local knowledge, cultural relevance, and practical skills to meet the demands of the job market.

Acknowledging the crucial role of pre-primary education in laying a strong foundation for learners, Dr. Chimbwete urged participants to continue their good work towards shaping the future of education in Malawi.
Dr Chimbwete also extended gratitude towards the Government for its unwavering financial support for the curriculum review processes, underscoring the significance placed on education by the authorities.
In his remarks, Dr. Frank Mtemangombe, the Executive Director for Malawi Institute of Education, expressed satisfaction with the proceedings at the workshop, highlighting the dedication and focus exhibited by all involved.
The workshop, which convened curriculum specialists, academia, development partners, teachers, key stakeholders and other experts, aimed to conceptualise the pre-primary and primary curriculum based on needs assessment reports and recommendations from the National Symposium.
The collaborative efforts showcased at the workshop signify a promising step towards enhancing education in Malawi and catering to the evolving needs of learners.
