The Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) has introduced a Staff of the Month Award to acknowledge and inspire exemplary performance among its workforce.
Launched in February by the Acting Executive Director, Mr. Jennings Kayira, the award aims to strengthen a culture of excellence and motivate staff across various departments. Each month, one outstanding employee will be selected on a rotational basis and recognized with a K200,000 cash prize and a trophy.
The first recipient of the award is Violet Mandalawe, from the Housekeeping Section, who distinguished herself through exceptional dedication and consistent delivery of quality service.
Speaking during the launch, the Acting Executive Director, Mr. Kayira emphasized the importance of celebrating staff achievements:
“This award is meant to motivate staff and promote a culture of excellence.”
In her remarks, Mandalawe expressed gratitude and highlighted her passion for ensuring guests comfort and satisfaction as the source of her commitment.
The initiative marks a significant step toward boosting staff morale and fostering high performance across MIE.
