A significant step towards improving primary education in Malawi, where the Validation Workshop of draft syllabuses for Grades 1 to 4 for the National Primary Curriculum (NPC), took place at MIE from 20th to 24th January 2026. The workshop brought together experts from the universities and colleges, curriculum specialists and officials from the Ministry of Education united in a shared commitment to enhancing learning outcomes for primary school learners.
Held under the theme, “Curriculum Change and Innovation- Towards Achieving an Inclusively Wealthy and Self-Reliant Nation”, the validation process marked a critical milestone in the curriculum review process which aims at strengthening Malawi’s primary education system. Throughout the week, education experts and key stakeholders collaboratively validated the draft syllabuses to ensure the National Primary Curriculum remains responsive, relevant, and learner-centered, while aligning with national development aspirations.
Through the collective effort, MIE continues to demonstrate leadership in driving innovation and quality education for sustainable national development.
