MIE Set to Open Satelite Shops in Mzuzu and Lilongwe

Teaching and Learning Materials Coming Closer to You!!!

Starting 12 October 2026, education stakeholders in the Northern and Central regions will have more convenient access to Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) teaching and learning materials, with the opening of two new satellite shops in Mzuzu and Lilongwe.

The Mzuzu shop will be located at the Ministry of Lands Building, while the Lilongwe shop will be situated near the Immigration Office. The two outlets are being established to bring teaching and learning  materials closer to schools, teachers, learners and other stakeholders,, reducing barriers to access the materials they need.

People in Lilongwe and Mzuzu areas will be able to walk into the satellite shop and purchase materials directly. Those further away can also make arrangements with the shop personnel to have their purchases sent through available transportation options.

The development is part of MIE’s continued efforts to expand access to its teaching and learning materials across the country and ensure that distance does not become a barrier to accessing essential educational resources.

Meanwhile, preparations are also underway for the establishment of a satellite shop in the Southern Region. The proposed site at Chichiri in Blantyre has already been inspected, with final arrangements for its opening currently in progress.
