Minister of Education Visits MIE to Engage on Ongoing Curriculum Review

Last week on Friday, the Minister of Education, Hon. Bright Msaka, paid a working visit to the Malawi Institute of Education to gain a deeper understanding of the ongoing national curriculum review process.

During the visit, the Minister held a meeting with MIE management and technical teams, where a series of presentations were made outlining progress on the curriculum review, including updates from the Curriculum Development Department. The discussions highlighted key milestones achieved so far, ongoing activities, and strategic directions guiding the review process. The Minister provided valuable input into the ongoing curriculum review.

 Later in an interaction with the participants currently engaged in drafting secondary school syllabuses, he highlighted the four powerful imperatives of a rapidly changing world of a future ready skills, national identity and global citizenship and the imperative of equity and relevance. He encouraged the teams to remain committed to developing a responsive and high-quality curriculum that meets the country’s education and developments needs.

MIE remains committed to working closely with the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to ensure the successful review and implementation of the national curriculum.
