The Conceptualisation Workshop for Secondary and Primary Teacher Education Curricula and Assessment Procedures in Liwonde has brought together exceptional educators from across Malawi. Two outstanding teachers, Temwa Chilenga from Chambu Primary School in Lilongwe and Tionge Mtambo, Head Teacher at Tondola Primary School in Chitipa, are among the esteemed participants.

Temwa Chilenga’s remarkable dedication to education has made a profound impact on her community. She selflessly cares for over 100 vulnerable children, mostly orphans, ensuring they access education and a brighter future.

Tionge Mtambo’s achievements have earned international recognition. As a top 10 finalist at the prestigious Global Teacher Prize in Dubai, she represented not only Malawi but the entire African continent.

The Malawi Institute of Education (MIE) recognizes the invaluable contributions of these passionate teachers. By engaging them in the conceptualisation workshop, MIE aims to tap into their expertise and ideas on shaping the future of education.

Their participation is a testament to MIE’s commitment to collaborative and inclusive curriculum development. By working together with dedicated educators like Temwa and Tionge, MIE strives to create a better future for Malawi’s education system.
